What do you recommend?
“In Elizabeth Strout’s newest novel, My Name Is Lucy Barton, nothing much happens. A woman gets sick, and, after a long while, she gets well, and, in the interval, she has a visit from the mother she loves for absolutely no reason that anyone except a daughter with a longing, lonely heart could discern. Nothing much happens, yet I know those people as if we’d grown up next door. If Liz Strout is doing the writing, then I am doing the reading, period. I would follow her prose through hell, she’s so wonderful.”
Jacquelyn Mitchard, author of Two If By Sea
Mitchard appears at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Books & Books, 265 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables.
