MEET THE EDITORIAL BOARD
Amy Driscoll
OPINION EDITOR
As the Opinion editor for the Miami Herald, I oversee the editorial board and the opinion section. Previously, I was deputy opinion editor for three years and won the Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing in 2023 for the series Broken Promises. Before joining the editorial board, I was an editor in the newsroom, overseeing coverage of healthy policy and politics during 2020. I've also been editor for world affairs, with a team that included correspondents in Latin America and the Caribbean. In my reporting career, I specialized in politics and court coverage. I won the Nieman Fellowship to Harvard University in 2003. I co-hosted the Miami Herald's six-part narrative podcast,Smoked, about a 1980s pot smuggling kingpin, and I was co-creator of the photo archive site,Flashback Miami. I previously worked at the Palm Beach Post, and I'm a second-generation journalist.
Isadora Rangel
OPINION WRITER
I joined the Editorial Board in 2021 after covering anything from entertainment, to local government to the state Legislature for Florida newspapers. I'm an FIU graduate so it's a pleasure to be back in Miami after a stint as the opinion and engagement editor at FLORIDA TODAY. Holding the powerful accountable and pushing for change are the reasons I became an opinion writer. I am interested in politics, legislation, the tension between development and the environment and education. I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, and I'm a proud immigrant.
Mary Anna Mancuso
OPINION WRITER
I joined the Editorial Board in 2024 after more than a decade working in conservative politics as a strategist and writer. As a longtime conservative voice in Florida, I’ve written on politics, climate change and pro-democracy movements, with my work appearing in both national and state media outlets. I also worked on local, state and presidential campaigns, including serving as digital director for former Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater’s 2014 reelection campaign and as deputy communications director for former U.S. Rep. Connie Mack’s 2012 Senate race.
