Come fly with me -- over the Dolphins’ magnificent new stadium.
The club late Wednesday shared a drone video of the team’s overhauled home field, which will make its soft opening with the Dolphins’ Sept. 1 preseason game against the Titans.
The Miami Hurricanes will open their season as scheduled two nights later against Florida A&M, which will be the first true game held in the building since the 14-acre shade canopy was installed.
The footage suggested that the work on the roof was all but done.
The price tag on the complete home makeover is a cool half-billion dollars -- and Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has picked up the tab.
Granted, he expects to make a good chunk of that back in new ticket revenue and corporate partnerships, including tens of millions the club will earn from selling the rights to the building’s name. Ross suggested last month that Hard Rock was the leading candidate.
