Keyshawn Young leads Miami High past Braddock

Miami High junior Keyshawn “Pie” Young scored three times, including a 48-yard first quarter punt return for a score to lead the Stingarees over host Braddock (0-2) on Friday afternoon.

Johnson finished with 55 yards on seven carries and scored two other times on runs of 7 and 5 yards for Miami High (2-0).

Braddock quarterback Angel Alvarez completed 19 of 35 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns. Alex Victor was his main target, reeling in seven catches for 159 yards, including a 94-yard fourth-quarter touchdown that closed Miami High’s lead to 23-14.

After Johnson scored the last of his three touchdowns with six minutes left, Alvarez came right back and fired a 57-yard touchdown pass to Edward Othelot with 4:34 left but the two-point conversion, which would have made it a one-possession game, failed.
