Westland Hialeah stifles Mourning with its defense

After allowing 57 points to American the previous week, , the Westland Hialeah defense (2-3, 1-2, District 16-7A) bounced back by holding Mourning (3-2, 2-1) to just nine points in the team’s victory Saturday at North Miami Stadium.

Wildcats quarterback Romel Guerrier ran for 175 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Running back Jorge Marino balanced the offense with 130 yards rushing, a touchdown, and added an interception on defense.

The Wildcats jumped to an early 21-0 lead, which they never relinquished.

Sharks quarterback Kevin Joseph threw a 16-yard touchdown pass.
