Maurquice Flowers powers Plantation to win over American
Maurquice Flowers froze defenders and jetted toward green grass en route to 203 rushing yards and four touchdowns in Plantation’s 34-13 win against American in a region 4-7A quarterfinal at Milander Park on Friday night.
“They were playing dirty, but all I saw was end zone,” Flowers said.
“I have a great [offensive] line. They are young but gave me all they had. Once I beat the first defender and got a nice block, all I saw was green.”
Plantation led 28-13 at halftime on three Flowers runs, including an 80-yard burst. The Colonels (8-3) face St. Thomas Aquinas in 7A regional semifinal.
