Piper senior running back Travis Liburd single-handedly shook off Coral Glades in a 30-0 Piper victory. The senior running back started the game with touchdown runs of 53 yards and 75 yards en route to an 18-carry, 242-yard, three-touchdown performance.
The Bengals (1-1) held a 16-0 lead at the half, thanks to Liburd’s heroics and a Holton Watson score in the fourth quarter.
“I have to attribute it to my five-man front,” Liburd said. “We are working a unit. I couldn’t do it without the line, the defense and the coaches. The team supports me a lot. They have my back and I have theirs.”
Coral Glades (0-2) had minus-5 yards in the loss compared with 397 yards for Piper.
