Host Flanagan (2-0) opened up its offense in routing Fort Lauderdale (0-2).
Flanagan quarterback Ryan Stanley led the Falcons with three touchdowns on 11-of-15 passing for 217 yards. After a interception early in the first quarter, Stanley found his rhythm and missed only three throws the rest of the game.
Flanagan’s defense did its part, holding the Flying L’s to negative 32 yards in the first half. The Falcons recorded five sacks and were three minutes away from a shutout until backup quarterback James Gardner led Fort Lauderdale to a late touchdown.
Sixteen penalties for 150 yards prevented Flanagan from completely blowing the game wide open.
