Keith Stone leads Zion Lutheran to 79-28 win over Donna Klein

Behind Keith Stone’s 19 points, Zion Lutheran defeated Donna Klein 79-28 on Tuesday.

Stone set the pace for the Lions to win their regular-season opener. Vincent Stubbs added 14 points and Kevin Auguste registered 13 points to round out the Lions in double-digit scoring.

Edwin Louis added nine points and Prestin Tiltoff netted six as Zion cruised to victory.

Pine Crest 2, Cardinal Gibbons 1:

Madiline Turner and Kylie Dicarolis each scored goals en route to the victory over the Chiefs.

Mackenize Crittenberger netted a goal for Cardinal Gibbons, but her efforts fell just short of giving her team a draw.

With the win, the Panthers improve to 6-2-2.


North Broward 5, Chaminade-Madonna 2:

Morgan Sherman’s three-goal performance made the difference in the win over Chaminade-Madonna.

Teammate Rachel Blow added two goals and an assist while Adrianna Dubay dished out three assists.

Sam Susi recorded five saves.

North Broward is 6-1-1.


Late Monday — University School 3, Ransom Everglades 2:

Jessica Diaz, Valerie O'Toole and Kendaya scored to propel University School past Ransom Everglades.



Monarch 2, West Boca 1:

Eddie Almeida and Fernando Sala each scored once to lead Monarch (4-1-1) past West Boca (0-5).


University School 1, Somerset 1:

C.J. Ardavin scored the lone goal for University to give his squad a draw.

The Suns are 2-1-2.


Pine Crest will honor a number of its student-athletes today for receiving letters of interest from several colleges.

During a ceremony, Pine Crest will address Matthew Rothenberg, a baseball player who received a letter from Harvard to continue playing. Brady Acton received a National Letter of Intent from Villanova to continue his baseball career. Chris Koppenhaver also received a letter of intent, coming from Duke.

Hannah Veale received a letter-of-intent to pursue swimming at Queens in Charlotte, N.C., while Kent Haeffner received a letter from Harvard to extend his swimming career.

Maddie Goldberg and Ryan Pristo received letters for crew from Cornell and Princeton, respectively.

Haley Fox will head to Stanford to continue her sailing career.
