This time last year the Cobras of Boyd Anderson ended Dwyer’s quest for a state championship with a stunning 6-3 upset.
Behind a dominating 35-8 victory Friday night, the Panthers made sure history was not repeating itself.
The Panthers offense got things started immediately when quarterback Daniel Parr connected with standout receiver Johnnie Dixon for a 44-yard touchdown on their fourth offensive play.
The Cobras (2-9) were threatening early in the third quarter, but Dixon showed off his defensive skills, making an interception in the end zone on a first-and-goal pass.
The Panthers (11-0) continue their march toward state by hosting Pompano Blanche-Ely next week.
