St. Thomas Aquinas (4-1) shut out South Broward (0-5) 66-0 Friday night on the Bulldogs’ home field.
Quarterback Wade Freebeck threw for 210 yards and five touchdowns in the first half. Freebeck connected three times in the end zone with wide receiver Corey Holmes, who finished the night with three catches and 94 yards. Aquinas scored six touchdowns in the first half and took a 45-0 lead into the half.
Aquinas opened the third quarter with a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Jawuan Harris. On the ensuing drive, Aquinas scored on a pick-6 by Wyatt Ray. Ray tipped the pass at the line of scrimmage and ran it back 15-yards for the score.
South Broward only managed to gain 65 yards and four first downs in the first half. Bulldogs quarterback Bernard Scott opened the night with four straight completions, but would only complete seven more passes the rest of the game.

“We’re very happy with the overall performance,” said Aquinas coach Rocco Casullo. “We just took advantage of what they gave us, offensively and defensively.”
