The Carol City defense shutout host Southridge (3-2) 18-0 allowing only 140 total yards Friday night.
The lone score of the first half was setup by a 42-yard catch by Johaun Beresford who was stopped at the one. Two plays later sophomore Nay'Quan Wright scored on a one yard run. The extra point was missed wide left.
"I told the O-line to just give me a crease and I got in there for them," Wright said.
No points were scored in the first quarter. Carol City (2-2) put together a great opening drive with over 60 rushing yards, but it ended with a missed field goal attempt.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Wright scored on a 20-yard run off a direct snap. Wright led Carol City with 84 rushing yards on 13 carries.
Camron Davis scored on a 20-yard pass from Marlon Smith late in the fourth quarter. Davis also rushed for 52 yards on 12 carries. Kevaughn Dingle had three receptions for 33 yards.
The Chiefs defense forced a fumble, interception, three sacks and 18 incomplete passes.
"The defense played well, no actually they played great tonight to put up a donut," Davis said.
Quarterback Michael Cox led Southridge with 86 passing yards.
