Three suspended Florida Gators players are back

The resolution to Saturday’s weather-suspended opener remains up in the air, but coach Will Muschamp determined a single, 10-second play was punishment enough for three suspended players.

Sophomore wide receiver Demarcus Robinson (university sanction) and defensive tackles Darious Cummings and Jay-nard Bostwick (violation of team rules) have been reinstated and will play Saturday against Eastern Michigan (1-0).

“They will be back this week,” Muschamp said. “Not just as far as the suspension of the game, but they’ve handled a lot of other things for me.”

Kyle Christy, a former 2012 Ray Guy Award finalist, is Florida’s starting punter a year after losing his job to freshman Johnny Townsend.

The senior regained the No. 1 role after being benched five games into 2013.

“Christy will be the punter,” Muschamp said. “He was a little more consistent [during training camp], but certainly Johnny is more than capable.”
