Kristina “Krissy” Fisher, a University of Miami midfielder, was called up to the U.S. Under-19 national team camp May 13-20 in Carson, Calif.
Fisher just finished a standout freshman season for the Hurricanes, making the ACC All-Freshman team and the ACC All-Academic team. She was the lone freshman to start all 19 games, scored seven goals and had six assists.
She is one of six midfielders invited to the U.S. camp. Fisher also has been in camp with the U14 and U15 national teams. She is a graduate of Jupiter High, though she did not play soccer there. She ran track, setting school records and reaching the regional final in the 4X100 relay.
Fisher played U18 club soccer with Orlando City ECNL, played U16 and U17 at Albion (Tex.), and was with Boca United for U14 and U15. She was a member of the Florida Olympic Development Program team, and chose UM over Auburn, Boston College, Notre Dame, South Florida and Tennessee.
