Diamondbacks Share Promising Corbin Carroll Update After Injury Scare

Arizona Diamondbacks fans can collectively exhale now.

Manager Torey Lovullo told reporters that superstar outfielder Corbin Carroll has no concussion symptoms and is feeling good after getting hit on the head by a relay throw on his first inning triple in Tuesday night's game.

Carroll was able to stay in the game and play all nine innings of Arizona's 5-3 comeback win over the San Francisco Giants.

Carroll is out of the lineup on Wednesday as a regular day off, but could enter the game later. Lovullo wanted to give Carroll a day off and felt that today made the most sense to do so.

Carroll campaigned to play today, but his manager decided against it given he was due for a day off.

This is more than good news for the Diamondbacks since Carroll is one of, if not their best hitter.

Despite breaking his hamate bone in spring training, the 25-year-old is slashing .285/.395/.563 with a .958 OPS, seven home runs and 24 RBI in 45 games this season. He has also stolen six bases after swiping 32 bags last year.

This is Carroll's fourth full-season in the big-leagues. He is a two-time All-Star, 2023 NL Rookie of the Year, 2023 All-MLB First Team and a 2025 Silver Slugger winner.

Carroll is off to another impressive start in 2026. If he can stay healthy, the young outfielder should finish with big numbers for the fourth straight year.

The Diamondbacks are 24-23 on the season and in third place in a tough NL West division. They have won seven of their last 10 games and are hoping to at least claim a Wild Card spot in the NL this year.
