It’s great that Miami Beach Commissioner Jonah Wolfson has wrapped up the Relentless for Progress (RFP) political action committee, which Mayor Philip Levine relentlessly defended.
I guess every black cloud has a silver lining. Thanks to them we’ve learned a few things:
- Just because something’s legal, doesn’t make it ethical.
- When actual faces and names are associated with a PAC, the negative advertising or claims reflect personally on the sender.
- Finally, as a Group 4 Commission candidate, voters have been asking me and other candidates, “Are you receiving money from the mayor’s PAC?”
The real question is, are you or will you accept any money or benefit whatsoever at anytime from the mayor’s PAC? For me the answer is No. Based on what we know now, can a new incarnation of RFP be in our future? Regardless of the answer, junk mail is called junk mail for a reason.
