My husband and I knew and loved Joan Rivers for many years. Joan was a wonderful, loving funny and charitable human being, unlike the hyper-critical stage personality that she assumed in some of her later appearances.
We first met her years ago when my husband reviewed her comedy performances in New York City clubs.
Joan and I became close friends when she accepted our invitation to help fundraise for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Gloria Vanderbilt also served on the board with us.
Joan was a wonderful friend, and her stories about the wonders of Miami led us to retire to this marvelous area. Joan loved her daughter, Melissa, and her late husband, Edgar Rosenberg. She was a kind, charitable and compassionate person who loved people and animals
