I live in Kendall, west of U.S. 1 and east of the Turnpike. Why has the county planted so many palm trees alongside the roads that it doesn’t care for properly? They are suffering from lack of water and poor soil conditions. Why didn’t they plant more drought-tolerant trees such as oaks, which are not only hurricane resistant, but add to the beauty and property value of our area, as can be seen in Coral Gables?
