On June 17, with the torrential downpour in Hollywood, I took refuge under the oceanside overhang of the Hollywood Beach Hotel. I was joined by another runner and we were both soaked through and through. A security guard came out and asked if we were guests and we both answered no and told him we just wanted to wait a few minutes for the rain to lessen. He told us that this was private property, pointed to a sign, and said that we were trespassing and must leave. Maybe he just did not want us to see what a shambles the hotel is in. At least that would make sense. The other runner was from Italy and said he would never consider staying at the hotel with this nonsensical policy and I would never recommend it to anyone that I know.
