Jeb’s self-image

Barry Jackson reports in a June 3 story, “Jeter travels to South Florida, addresses Marlins sale,” that Jeb Bush withdrew his pursuit of the Marlins because Derek Jeter wanted total control. No kidding!

Here you have a baseball icon in Jeter wanting to make this desperate franchise over, perhaps even in his image. This logical desire caused Bush to withdraw.

Shades of when Trump proved too effective a campaigner and ran him off (much to my chagrin).

Bush needs to emerge from feeling entitled, omniscient, or both, and realize that it’s a competitive world out there.

The public view of him differs from his self-image, at least when it comes to governance and baseball.
