That fog sure smells this morning.
That’s because there is smoke mixed in with the fog.
Not to worry. The smoke Friday morning is coming from a controlled burn set Thursday by Florida Forest Service crews over hundreds of acres in Brevard County. The crews set the fires to clear debris to help prevent wildfire.
The National Weather Service also issued an alert that much of South Florida’s interior will find areas of fog through the early morning. A few spots are seeing dense fog, with visibility dropping to around one-quarter mile.
Conditions, aside from the smell of lingering barbecue fanned our way by winds up to 23 mph, will clear this morning. High temps are expected to hit 84 degrees.
