Cancellations of flights to New York or Boston stacked like Legos Thursday as the weather that drives Northeastern people to South Florida is keeping them here.
Twelve flights from Miami International Airport to LaGuardia Airport, including all American Airlines flights, have been canceled. The remaining MIA-LGA departures are Delta 1437 (codeshare with WestJet 7593), scheduled for 3:08 p.m.; Delta 2820/WestJet 6691 at 5:50; and Delta 2168/WestJet 6693, a 7:55 p.m. flight that’s been moved to 8:45 p.m.
The only remaining MIA-JFK flights are a 12:40 p.m. flight, Delta 418/Gol 8101/Alitalia 3358/KLM 5195/Virgin Atlantic 4756/Air France 2549/Aeroflot 3469/WestJet 6869/Jet Airways 7709; American 2254 at 5:57 p.m.; and American 1406 at 9:50 p.m.
For those who fly into Newark, all but one Miami-to-Newark flights have been zapped. United’s flight into its Newark hub, 0722, was still scheduled to leave at 8:07 p.m.
All flights out of Miami and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood to Boston’s Logan International Airport have been canceled.
You can still get to New York out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Thursday. The only Thursday flight to Newark that wasn’t canceled, a JetBlue flight, left at 8:50 a.m., 10 minutes ahead of its scheduled departure time.
In fact, JetBlue is the only airline that hasn’t already canceled its Fort Lauderdale-to-JFK flights. Flight 502, a codeshare with Azul Airlines 7366, scheduled to leave at 10:07 a.m. was rescheduled for 12:30 p.m. and JetBlue 1202 was pushed back to a 12:55 p.m. gate departure. JetBlue 302/Emirates 6728 was still set for 4:53 p.m.
JetBlue’s 1572, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood to LaGuardia, now is set to leave at 3 p.m. and JetBlue 672 remains set for 6:01 p.m. As of 12:30 p.m., Delta 1410/WestJet 6619, scheduled to leave at 1:15 p.m., now is set for 3 p.m.
