The year-end holiday break from roadwork in Miami-Dade County continues this week, except for some paving that was to have been completed by early Thursday morning – at the latest.
That work affected ramps along State Road 836 at various intersections including Northwest 17th, 27th, 37th, 42nd, 45th and 57th avenues.
These same paving operations will resume in the first week in January, but likely will extend from Sunday to Thursday.
Construction of toll express lanes, with the consequent lane closures and restrictions, also will resume next week on the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike, the Palmetto Expressway, Interstate 75 and Interstate 95 – generally overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.

Work also will resume on myriad other projects including reconstruction of Red Road/Northwest 57th Avenue in Hialeah as well as construction of an elevated road for trucks along Northwest 25th Street in Doral and reconstruction of a massive highway interchange linking State Roads 836 and 826 near Miami International Airport.
