Commuters will face challenges this week on expressways including State Roads 836, 826, Interstate 95, the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike, as well as on several surface roads.
Several 836 ramps will close intermittently for paving and sign installation. They include the eastbound and westbound 836 ramps to and from southbound Northwest 27th Avenue through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night; the eastbound and westbound ramps to and from Northwest 37th Avenue through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night; and the ramps to and from Northwest 107th Avenue through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night.
On the turnpike, one or two lanes northbound or southbound may close nightly at various locations between Southwest 216th Street and Eureka Drive between10 p.m. and 5 a.m. through Thursday for widening and express lane construction.
Also, for the same purpose, one or two lanes in each direction may close nightly between Killian Parkway and Eureka Drive between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. through Thursday.
One or two lanes in each direction may close nightly between Killian Parkway and Sunset Drive from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday. One of two turnpike lanes in each direction also may be closed nightly between Sunset Drive and Bird Road from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday.
The eastbound and westbound left-turn lanes on Caribbean Boulevard at the turnpike interchange will be closed around the clock for about two weeks. The lane closures are part of an ongoing project to widen the turnpike from Southwest 216th Street/Hainlin Mill Drive to 184th Street/Eureka Drive.
The exits from eastbound 826 and the turnpike to southbound I-95 will be closed nightly through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. for paving.
Similarly, the northbound I-95 ramp to the turnpike and to westbound 826 will be closed nightly through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and on Friday and Saturday between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m.
On Northwest 25th Street in Doral, all eastbound lanes will be closed at 79th Avenue possibly through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. nightly.
