A crash that tied up Miami traffic for hours on Monday morning left a pedestrian dead in the street.
The pedestrian was hit by a sports car at Northwest 27th Avenue and 16th Street near Little Havana.
Miami police were called to the scene around 5 a.m. A 59-year-old woman was crossing 16th Street from west to east when she was struck by the driver of a white Chevrolet Camaro heading north on 27th Avenue, according to Miami police. There is no crosswalk at that point.

"City of Miami Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased on the scene, while the vehicle driver remained on the scene without physical injuries," according to a police report.
Northwest 27th Avenue was closed in both directions from Northwest 14th to 20th streets for about four hours.
Traffic is flowing again, according to Miami police.
