A father accidentally shot and killed his 14-year-old son at a Sarasota gun range Sunday afternoon, according to a report in the Tampa Bay Times.
The accident occurred as the father,William Brumby, 54, was shoot next to a wall. When a gun casing bounced off the wall and fell down his shirt, Brumby pointed the gun behind him as he tried to dislodge the casing. He accidentally fired, hitting his 14-year-old son, Stephen Brumby.
Stephen died from his injuries at an area hospital.
Brumby’s 24-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter were present at the time. Neither was injured.

Sherrif’s deputies said no charges are pending against Brumby, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
