A Pinellas County man was arrested Tuesday on charges of defrauding a mentally handicapped victim for money and sex while impersonating a country music star.
Largo Police said Daniel Farris, 26, posed as Jason Aldean on Facebook and tricked the victim into sex, according to WFLA.
Police said he also impersonated a friend of Aldean’s and told the victim Aldean loved her, but he was on tour and his friend needed $2,000.
WFLA reported that according to police, Farris got $230 from the victim twice and used the money to feed his prescription pill addiction.

He was arrested Tuesday on charges of grand theft and scheming to defraud the victim.
In previous brushes with the law (including his 2008 arrest for stealing a car and 2010 arrest for dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership) he was released on his own recognizance. He left jail on $1,000 bond after his 2011 arrest for possession of Xanax.
As of Saturday, records show Farris is still sitting in jail awaiting trial.
