A 65-year-old woman is behind bars facing felony aggravated assault charges after she pulled a gun on her roommate and threatening to kill her dogs, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Marsha Evans got into an argument with her roommate late on June 13, “that began to escalate over time,” a sheriff’s office report states.

Deputies report that Evans grabbed a .22 caliber handgun, “and began waving it around in the air toward,” her roommate.

Evans then threatened to kill her roommates dogs, “and bury them in the backyard of the house,” the report states.

Evans then pointed the gun at her roommate and threatened to kill her as well, according to the report.

The victim ran to her bedroom, locked the door and called police.

Evans remains in the Manatee County jail and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
