A Florida man ended his ex-wife’s date with a bar stool last weekend, the Indian River Sheriff’s Office said.
When Bryan Walsh and Melissa Lamb’s Saturday night date proceeded back to her Vero Beach apartment, they found Melissa’s ex-husband, Zachary Lamb. Melissa Lamb told cops he has a key and comes over often to be with their children, although the apartment was kid-free Saturday. Zachary said that Melissa had invited him over, and that he had become upset when she walked in with Walsh.
The Lambs began to argue. What all agree on is that Walsh went to the back porch while the former couple argued inside the apartment. Zachary claimed Melissa wouldn’t let him go out the front door, so he had to go out the back, past Walsh.
“Zachary Lamb advised he picked up a bar stool in hopes Walsh would get the point to leave him alone,” according to the arrest report. “Walsh did not, however, and began to yell at Zachary Lamb, which is when, Zachary Lamb advised, he struck Walsh with the bar stool.”
The responding Indian River deputy noticed Walsh’s lacerations to his lip and face in the emergency room, which is where Walsh and Melissa Lamb’s date ended.
If Lamb’s description is accurate, he could be in trouble beyond the one felony battery charge, for which he’s still in jail on $7,500 bond. In October, he started a two-year probation on weapons possession charges.
