A Florida woman who suspected her boyfriend of cheating went on the attack last week, Titusville police said.
Jasmine Hatchcock was arrested early Wednesday morning and slapped with multiple charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in public and shooting a deadly missile into a vehicle.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the 20-year-old was taken into custody just after midnight Wednesday when cops say she came at her boyfriend with a knife after an argument over his fidelity, or lack thereof.
The victim tried to grab the blade away and received cuts on his hand, police said.
According to the arrest affidavit, when he got in his car to flee, the suspect threw the knife his way. Then she reportedly retrieved a handgun out of the man’s backpack and shot into the car. One bullet hit the bumper.
Police said Hatchcock confessed during a subsequent interview.
Hatchcock was released from jail on $46,000 bond on the conditions that she and the victim have no contact, that she not use drugs and alcohol — nor firearms.
