When it comes to Ree Drummond, who is better known as The Pioneer Woman, creating and executing delicious recipes for her family and fans is what she does best.

But she’ll be the first to admit when a specific recipe isn’t her forte. And she’s revealing such a recipe in a story for the latest issue of The Pioneer Woman magazine.

According to Drummond, she is saying “never again” to green tea ice cream.

“I once made green tea ice cream for a ladies’ investment-club meeting back in the old days. Instead of using matcha or green tea powder, I actually bought green tea bags, ground the tea in the food processor and then used that in the ice cream base,” she explained.

“It wasn’t necessarily a disaster,” Drummond continued, but added that “it looked like mossy green sludge.”

However, despite its less-than-appetizing appearance, Drummond said she “still served it because I had all my hopes pinned on this ice cream.”

“There were about 23 bowls, and no one ate any of it,” she conceded.

The new grandmother never attempted to make green tea ice cream again. Now, it’s something she leaves up to others, buying it from the store when it’s available.

It’s an exciting time for the Drummond household.

As she revealed December, her daughter Alex Drummond Scott gave birth to their first grandchild, Sofia Marie.

And in a March 10 blog post, Drummond wrote that they celebrated her other daughter Paige Drummond, who is getting married in May to her fiancè, David Anderson.

Over the weekend, the family celebrated Paige and David with a “fun couples’ shower to kick off wedding season.”

“Now that the weekend is over, I feel hungover—not from alcoholic beverages, but from the sheer love and romance of it all,” Drummond continued. “I’m starting to get so excited about the wedding!”
