A woman shot in the head during an early-morning dispute over loud music has died, Oregon police reported.

Officers found Susan Henson with a critical gunshot injury in an apartment parking lot just before 3 a.m. Dec. 10, Gresham police said in a news release.

She later died of her injuries, police said in the Monday, Dec. 16, news release.

Court documents said Henson had gone out into the parking lot to confront a man and woman she accused of playing loud music, KATU reported. The woman told police Henson knocked take-out food from their hands.

Henson’s boyfriend pepper-sprayed the man, who fired three shots, one of which struck Henson in the head, according to court documents obtained by KOIN.

The man accused of firing the shots told police he feared he was going to be beaten, KATU reported.

Officers arrested Kuian Kellum, 26, on charges of attempted murder and assault, but he is expected to face additional charges following Henson’s death, police said.

Gresham is about a 15-mile drive east from downtown Portland.
