How did this sea creature get so good at parking? A cute photo shows the critter’s best effort at a California beachside parking lot.

National Park Service officials posted the cute photo of what appears to be a baby elephant seal parked in a parking space at Point Reyes National Seashore to Instagram in a Jan. 2 post.

Ex-seal-lent parking job,” officials said in a Jan. 4 post with the same photo. “Well, almost. A little on the line there, bud.”

Rangers herded the northern elephant seals back to the beach and reminded drivers to look out for them in unexpected spots during the winter — including parking lots, Point Reyes National Park said on Instagram.

“Always a best parking lot practice: drive slow, stay alert, make eye contact with pedestrians (or seals) to acknowledge their presence, not in a creepy way, and expect the unexpected at all times (like seals),” officials said.

Point Reyes officials advised drivers to pay attention to closures and keep more than two car-lengths away from the “seasonal residents.”

The park is about 30 miles northwest of San Francisco.

The comments section was chock full of puns about well-sealed parking lots and seals of approval.

“You really are the National PARK Service,” someone commented on the post.
