South Florida can expect a sunny sky and warmer weather just in time for the long holiday weekend.
Despite a cold morning by South Florida standards Thursday — with temperatures in the 40s — the morning temperature on Friday is expected to be in the mid-50s.
“It’s going to be a really nice weekend,” said Chuck Carcozza, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
By Friday afternoon the temperature is expected to climb to the low-70s. Into Saturday and Sunday, the low should be in the high 50s and high should be in the mid-70s.
That’s good news for a busy South Florida weekend, including the Miami International Boat Show, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival and Valentine’s Day festivities.
On Monday, a holiday for many, forecasters expect some rain, wind and a high in the mid-70s.
