Bicyclist hit by car in Coral Gables left in critical condition

A woman is in the hospital after being hit by a car while riding her bike in Coral Gables on Friday.

Just before 10:00 p.m., a car driving on the westbound lanes of Miracle Mile at the crosswalk of SW 37th Avenue slammed into the woman, according to Coral Gables Police.

The incident left the woman with multiple injuries.

Crews rushed her to Ryder Trauma Center where she is listed in critical condition.

Officers said the driver of the car stayed at the scene after the crash.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.

Police say Luis Gomez Hernandez stabbed a security guard for La Orquidea Restaurant in Southwest Miami-Dade Feb. 25. He was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree murder after leaving the hospital.
