An American Airlines flight heading from Bogota, Colombia, to Miami was diverted to Kingston, Jamaica, on Monday evening due to a possible mechanical problem.
American Airlines spokesman Casey Norton said Flight 916 was diverted after a pilot reported a “pressurization” issue. She added that oxygen masks did not deploy.
The flight landed safely at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston without any complications. Norton said that American Airlines was making arrangements to get its passengers to Miami as soon as possible.
Ground crews will inspect the plane to determine what caused the issue.
