Investigators on Sunday were trying to determine what caused a violent crash in Pompano Beach the night before that left two motorcyclists dead and a woman driving a Honda Accord in serious condition.
The accident happened at about 9 p.m. on Interstate 95 at Atlantic Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Patricia O. Noel, 44, of Pompano Beach was heading southbound in the outside lane when she lost control and veered into the center median.
The driver of a Suzuki motorcycle, Kevin Andre Jackson, 54, of Lauderhill, then veered to the left, struck the median wall and was ejected from the bike. He was taken to Broward Health North, where he later died.

A third man also on a Suzuki motorcycle then hit the car, which had rotated off the wall and into his path. Andrew Levitious Jackson, 50, of Fort Lauderdale, died at the scene.
Prior to the accident, there were reports of motorcyclists travelling at a high rate of speed, according to the FHP incident report.
Investigators were trying to determine if the reports were linked and what cause Noel to lose control of her car.
The interstate was closed for several hours as investigators collected evidence.
