A one-car accident on Card Sound Road in North Key Largo killed a Homestead man who worked in the exclusive Ocean Reef Club residential community.
Jean Evens Bellevue, 40, was driving south when his 1992 Acura Vigor crossed the road's center line and drove onto the east road shoulder and crashed into a large utility pole.
Bellevue was alone in the car. The accident, first reported at 9:05 a.m. last Friday, occurred about eight miles south of Florida City. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responders said Bellevue died at the scene, report investigators with the Miami-Dade Police Department. There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.
“It appears Mr. Bellevue was going to work,” police spokesman Lt. John Jenkins Jr. said.
