An Immokalee man walking along Interstate 75 died after getting hit by a Seminole Tribe police car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Yvens Seide, 33, was walking west on the highway Saturday morning when Officer Gary Paul Evelyn, 51, hit him with his marked police car, a 2012 Dodge pickup.
Seide died on the road, near the Big Cypress Preserve, according to FHP.
According to the report, Seide was on foot because he had gotten into a fight with the driver of the car in which he was riding. The driver dropped him off on the highway and continued on.

By the time the driver circled back to Seide, he was dead.
Seminole spokesman Gary Bitner said the tribe’s police department is cooperating with the FHP in the investigation.
“The officer is a veteran police officer with an unblemished record with the Seminole Police Department,” he said.
Bitner said the officer remains on duty.
It’s unclear whether Seide was intoxicated. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and FHP declined to release any more information.
