With her brown hair pulled into a ponytail, dressed in jeans and a heavy pullover sweater, 52-year-old Xiaoqin Li on Tuesday looked every bit the antithesis of a madam who used her Boca Raton massage parlor as a front for a brothel.
There was an air of resignation in the shrug of her shoulders as she stood in a Palm beach County courtroom and told Circuit Judge Jack Cox that she accepted the plea agreement that will send her to jail for nine months on charges of running a house of prostitution, deriving proceeds from prostitution and money laundering charges in a case that has tied her now-closed business to real estate mogul James Batmasian.
