An Apoka man weighing almost 500 pounds used his size to resist arrest following a domestic violence incident Sunday afternoon, WESH 2 News reported.
Howard Hendrix, 45, allegedly repeatedly slapped his girlfriend and had to be dragged out of his house while kicking a deputy, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
Hendrix didn’t fit into the patrol car, police said. He has been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief, resisting an officer without violence, battery causing bodily harm and driving under the influence. Hendrix is being held on $5,000 bond.
