An 11-year old boy was struck by lightning and revived on Tuesday afternoon in Daytona Beach.
According to News-JournalOnline.com, the boy and his father were fishing in waist-deep water around 1 p.m. when the child was struck.
The boy was revived by a nearby surf instructor. He was taken by ambulance to Halifax Health Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.
According to the report, a Facebook page has identified the boy as 11-year-old Bowen Tyre from Georgia. The page, “Prayers for Bowen Tyre,” says the boy’s fever has gone down and he is showing movement on the right side his body.

Police would not confirm the name of the boy but they did say he is now being treated at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando.
