A man tried to get his drug dealer arrested for robbery after he was sold fake pills early Tuesday, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
The man called police at 1:21 a.m. Tuesday saying he had witnessed a robbery in the 1500 block of 15th Street West and described the suspect's vehicle to police, according to a release. Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
Police soon discovered that no robbery had occurred, but that the man who called police had bought counterfeit pills from one of the suspects, the release said. When he discovered that the pills were fake, he followed the suspects and made the false robbery call.
One of the people in the vehicle was arrested on a charge possession of a controlled substance, police said.
