A Miami man was tasered and arrested Tuesday morning after he stole a woman's purse out of her car and led police on a wild chase, first by car and then by foot.
Jose Roberto Nodal, 27, snatched the purse from the passenger seat of the victim's car while the woman was preparing to leave a Publix at 1500 Douglas Rd. in Coral Gables. The woman called 911 after Nodal fled the lot in a red car. He was soon spotted by Coral Gables police officers.
Police tried to stop Nodal several times to no avail. Nodal then hit one of the police cars and struck a curb, which disabled his vehicle in the 3700 block of Salzedo Street.
Nodal got out of his car and fled before officers could restrain him at the 300 block of Viscaya Avenue. According to authorities, Nodal continued to resist while being arrested at which point officers tasered him.
