Investigators suspect the deaths of two men at New College of Florida over the weekend were drug related, according to the Sarasota Police Department.

Dylan Besser, 21, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday and Julian Toomsen-Hall, 18, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the release.

Toomsen-Hall was a first-year student from Georgia at New College and Besser was a guest from Boca Raton and a student at the University of Central Florida.

Police said they wouldn't know the cause of death until toxicology reports are finished in a few months.

Toomsen-Hall was found unresponsive in a dormitory room and Besser's location was not listed.

Police warned a pharmaceutical drug called fentanyl has been laced with street drugs in the Manatee and Sarasota areas, and the mixtures can be deadly. Officers said they do not yet know if fentanyl is related to the deaths in these cases.

Anyone with information related to these two cases can call Detective Sgt. Tom Shanafelt at 941-954-7089 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 941-366-TIPS (8477) or online
