Miami’s Top 5: Heat, smoke, rain, and more

Here’s what Miami is talking about Monday:

1. Fire and heat: Tuesday is shaping up to be hot, stormy and smokey. The weather is causing the first two, and the smoke is from a brush fire that continue to burn in West Kendall.

2. In a hole: The 3-10 Miami Marlins resume play Tuesday night in Philadelphia. The reeling team, beset by rumors of its manager on the hot seat, has a lone bright spot in Dee Gordon.

3. Tragedy on a causeway: Police are investigating a horrific crash on teh Tuttle Causeway, which sent a bicyclist plunging into Biscayne Bay to his death.

4. Doctor’s order: Healthcare is on the operating table Tuesday in Tallahassee, with Florida Senate President Andy Gardiner summoning all members to discuss budget.

5. In action: The Miami-Dade Commission meets all day. Among the topics; Uber and the Coconut Grove Playhouse.
