Neighbors came to the rescue of a man after his mobile home caught on fire early Friday morning.
The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. in 52-year-old Randall Kleinder’s home at 8500 Biscayne Blvd.
Neighbors said they saw Kleinder inside trying to get out through a window, but he couldn’t make it so they jumped in to help.
“The window was broken. He was trying to escape from the fire, we just helped him get out through the window,” said Melvin Martinez.
Within minutes the entire mobile home was engulfed in flames.
The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. At this time, there is no word on his condition.
Neither Miami-Dade Fire Rescue or Miami-Dade Police has said how the fire started or whether it was suspicious. However, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue is calling it a criminal investigation.
The Miami-Dade homicide unit has joined in on the investigation.
