Here’s what Miami is talking about Monday:

1. Opening day: A fresh start, Renewal. A better team. Fans are feeling fine about the Miami Marlins, who open the baseball season Monday afternoon at their Little Havana ballpark.

2. In the ring: Charlie Crist’s running mate when he ran for governor last year is branching out on her own. Democrat Annette Taddeo plans to announce her candidacy Monday for Congress, aiming for the seat occupied by Rep. Carlos Curbelo.

3. On track: Tri-Rail is now rolling to and from Miami International Airport with a stop at a new transit hub. A people mover zips passengers right to the terminal from the train station.

4. Celebrity skin: A skin doctor to the stars, Dr. Fredrik Brandt, died at his Miami home. His patients included Madonna.

5. Out of the hospital: A Miami Beach officer injured in a hit-and-run is recuperating at home after being dragged and dropped by a car that took off from a South Beach traffic stop.
