Danielle Antoine of Archbishop Curley Notre Dame Prep was recognized as a 2015 Posse Scholar and received a four-year scholarship from Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania.
Posse Miami received about 1,400 nominations for 60 scholarships this year. Many students were interviewed during the Dynamic Assessment Process, which looks at leadership experience, intellectual energy and a student’s commitment to pursuing higher education.
An awards ceremony will be held Jan. 5 at Parrot Jungle Island.

The Saborido Foundation, in partnership with the Miami-Dade Police Department, recently held its annual Christmas Toy Drive. This year, about 600 toys were collected for underprivileged children of the Missionaries of Charity in Miami and Haiti.
Local police departments and W.R. Middle School students of Sara Saborido, president and CEO of the foundation.
PALMER TRINITY SCHOOL
Coach Jill Ellis of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team visited students at Palmer Trinity School during the recent all-school convocation.
Ellis spoke about being a leader, not being afraid of failure, the importance of setting goals and working toward success.
SCHOOL FOR ADVANCED STUDIES
Leslie Denis of the School for Advanced Studies recently represented her school’s Women of Tomorrow chapter after spending a day with founders Don Browne and Jennifer Valoppi at the NBC6 television studio.
Leslie watched Women of Tomorrow mentor Trina Robinson as she hosted the afternoon news.
