School teacher asks the public for supplies

A West Kendall elementary teacher is asking the public for an estimated $300 in supplies for her first graders.

Mrs. Roberts, a first-grade teacher at Bent Tree Elementary at 4861 SW 140 Ave., has requested a list of supplies that includes five musical CDs, two balls and a hoop for a combination of music and physical fitness.

"My students need excellent wellness and health and physical activities, dance CDs, hoops and more that stimulate the body and mind through learning cooperative training in activities team work," Roberts stated in a popular online charity website called DonorsChoose.org

Bent Tree Elementary has been an "A" school for the past 11 consecutive years. The principal is Miguel Balsera.
